Day four of the PGL Astana 2025 tournament continues to deliver surprising results. Three teams — paiN, BIG, and HOTU — have ended their journeys at the event, failing to advance further. Each squad had their chances, but fierce competition and a string of unfortunate losses ultimately sealed their fate.
paiN
The Brazilian team finished their PGL Astana 2025 run at the group stage with a 1–3 record. Their only win came against HOTU, while defeats to Astralis, ODDIK, and MIBR eliminated their hopes of progressing. Although they managed to break their losing streak with that win over HOTU, their overall showing raised more questions than answers.
With BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 on the horizon, the team needs to seriously work on their mistakes to perform better at the next tournament.

After their elimination, the players posted an emotional message to fans on X:
“Another very weak performance, and we’re out of #PGLAstana with a 1–3 record!
Austin Major 2025 starts on June 7, and now we need to work REALLY hard to deliver the campaign you deserve.”

BIG
The German squad exits the tournament with only one victory — against Aurora. Losses to NAVI, Virtus.pro, and G2 prevented BIG from advancing. The most painful of those was the loss to G2, who were playing with their coach TaZ, who had limited practice — yet even that wasn’t enough to give BIG the edge they needed.

After the match, the team posted a short message on social media thanking their opponents:
“Polska gurom
GGs G2”
HOTU
For the Russian team, the tournament also proved to be a tough challenge. They started with back-to-back defeats against paiN and Aurora. A 2–0 win over GamerLegion gave them a glimmer of hope for a comeback, but their decisive match against NiP ended in a 0–2 loss, bringing their campaign to an end.

Following the defeat, the team shared a comment acknowledging their opponents’ strength while committing to improvement:
“We lose to NiP 0–2 in maps and place 12–14th at PGL Astana 2025!
The opponents were truly strong, but we gave each of them a fight and showed respectable gameplay, so we’re not discouraged. We’ll take the lessons and come back stronger very soon.”

The performances of paiN, BIG, and HOTU at this event showed that even a single win doesn’t guarantee success when the level of competition is this high. Despite their eliminations, all three teams demonstrated fighting spirit and the will to compete. Now the priority is to learn from their mistakes, improve, and come back stronger in future matches.
