One of the most iconic figures in Brazilian CS, Marcelo “coldzera” David, has officially joined ODDIK. The two-time HLTV Player of the Year will try to help the young roster establish itself in the highly competitive CS2 scene, despite his age and the challenges posed by the game’s new era.
A legend of the Brazilian scene
Marcelo “coldzera” David, a legendary AWPer and two-time HLTV Player of the Year (2016 and 2017), became a symbol of Brazilian dominance in Counter-Strike during his time with Luminosity Gaming and SK Gaming.
During his stint with Luminosity Gaming from 2015 to 2016, he claimed major trophies such as:
- MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016
- ESL Pro League Season 3 – Finals
After transferring to SK Gaming, where he spent nearly three years, coldzera continued his winning streak and added more prestigious titles to his name:
- ESL One: Cologne 2016
- Intel Extreme Masters XII – Sydney
- Esports Championship Series Season 3 – Finals
- ESL One: Cologne 2017
- EPICENTER 2017
- BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen 2017
- ESL Pro League Season 6 – Finals
coldzera also created one of the most iconic highlights in CS history during the MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 semifinal against Team Liquid. His legendary four-kill (quad-kill) play on Mirage became so memorable that it was immortalized with in-game graffiti.
Overall, during his time with Luminosity and SK Gaming, coldzera earned over $750,000, making it the most profitable period of his career.
Community reaction
The Brazilian CS community welcomed coldzera’s move to ODDIK warmly and with excitement.
ODDIK player Fillipe Martins commented:
“Bem vindo a família ODDIK!!” — warmly greeting the legend to the team.
Fenix Team manager hatzin added:
“Bem vindo gelado!” — using coldzera’s nickname (“gelado” means “cold” in Portuguese).
Another ODDIK player, ksloks, also responded positively:
“Bem vindo a familia” — emphasizing the sense of unity and team spirit.
Overall, the reactions reflect a positive and supportive atmosphere surrounding the legend’s addition to the roster.
ODDIK’s performance
In 2025, ODDIK has struggled to make an impact at the tier-1 level, mainly competing in tier-2 and tier-3 tournaments. Their only tier-1 appearance so far this year was at PGL Major Astana 2025, where they placed 9th–11th.
Other notable results include:
- Thunderpick World Championship 2025: South American Series #1 – 2nd place
- Thunderpick World Championship 2025: South American Series #2 – 2nd place
- KaBuM! Prime League – 1st place
Current ODDIK roster:
- Adriano “WOOD7” Cerato (IGL)
- João “naitte” Maia
- Italo “ksloks” Meinberg
- Fillipe “pancc” Martins
- Marcelo “coldzera” David
- Caio “cx1” Coutinho (coach)
Experience is not a guarantee of success in the CS2 era
Despite his legendary status and extensive experience, it’s difficult to expect that coldzera alone will drastically change ODDIK’s fortunes. He is already 30 years old — while not too old for esports, the CS2 scene is increasingly dominated by younger talent. New players are constantly raising the bar with superior mechanics, reaction speed, and adaptability to evolving metas, making it challenging even for decorated veterans to keep up.
Currently, ODDIK is not a stable contender at the tier-1 level. Without a more structured rebuild, a strong core lineup, and a clear tactical identity, even a player of coldzera’s caliber is unlikely to deliver immediate results. His signing should be viewed more as a symbolic and morale-boosting move that brings attention to the organization, rather than a guaranteed path to CS2 success.
