Team Vitality has cemented its status as one of the premier Counter-Strike 2 lineups in the world, claiming their third consecutive championship title of 2025. With an electrifying victory at BLAST Open Lisbon over an equally determined MOUZ squad, Vitality underlined their supremacy by extending their match win streak to an awe-inspiring 16 in a row. We have witnessed plenty of thrilling duels in the CS era, but this year’s consistent excellence in CS2 by Team Vitality is a testament to their cohesive team dynamic, strategic prowess, and unstoppable desire for victory!

We approached the $400,000 BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 event knowing it had the potential to be a spectacle; however, few anticipated just how intense the final stages would become. The Grand Final was a nail-biting, five-map epic that saw MOUZ push Vitality to the brink. In the process, MOUZ managed to hand Vitality their first map losses in this entire tournament run. The fiercely contested nature of these games reaffirms CS2’s thrilling unpredictability and the dynamic strategies that continue to unfold on each map.

Vitality’s Third CS2 Win

Inferno has frequently been a stronghold for Vitality, but the opening map delivered one of the most astonishing performances in Tier 1 CS history. Vitality pulled off a flawless 13-0 triumph to set the tone, marking the first time a team swept a map without losing a single round in a Big Event grand final. This incredible feat showcased Vitality’s airtight defense and near-flawless strategy calls from in-game leader Dan “apEX” Madesclaire.

Shahar “flameZ” Shushan’s 14 kills and 4 assists on just 6 deaths led the charge. Meanwhile, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut posted a remarkable 13-2 K-D, displaying pinpoint accuracy and unshakeable nerves. Robin “ropz” Kool also contributed 12 kills and a single assist on 4 deaths, proving that multiple members of Vitality were firing on all cylinders. This emphatic start hinted at a possible sweep, but MOUZ had no intentions of bowing out so easily.

After sustaining a demoralizing 0-13 defeat on Inferno, MOUZ found the resolve to mount an inspired comeback on Mirage. We were expecting Vitality to maintain their momentum, especially since Mirage had been a successful map in the team’s repertoire. Yet MOUZ quickly flipped the script in the second map, storming to a 9-3 lead in the first half as the T side and repelling Vitality’s efforts in the second half.

Spinx, a former teammate of some Vitality players, exploded onto the map with 26 kills, 5 assists, and just 14 deaths. The Israeli rifler took advantage of every opening, consistently punishing any minor misstep from Vitality. Behind Spinx’s firepower, MOUZ managed to hand Vitality their first map loss of the entire event, reminding the crowd that this final was far from over.

Riding high on the momentum gained from Mirage, MOUZ continued to deliver unexpected results on Dust 2. Vitality, who held a 9-0 record on this map in 2025, had every reason to be confident. But once again, MOUZ upset the balance, taking Dust 2 13-11 and pulling ahead 2-1 in the series.

Spinx stood out yet again, securing 19 kills on just 10 deaths, supported by Adam “torzsi” Torzsás, who tallied 17 kills and 7 assists. By halftime, Vitality were leading 7-5, yet MOUZ kept rallying back with well-timed multi-round streaks that proved decisive in edging out the French-led powerhouse. The significance of MOUZ’s double map win cannot be overstated: it represented one of the first times Vitality had been pushed so far in 2025.

On Nuke, one of the most mentally challenging maps, Vitality’s stars reaffirmed the squad’s championship pedigree. ZywOo shined with a 21-4-13 KDA, maintaining his fearless style that disrupts enemy game plans. Simultaneously, apEX  found impactful kills and used his experience to orchestrate a highly effective defense.

Vitality opened with a commanding 9-3 lead by halftime as the CT side, leveraging impeccable timing and crossfire setups. Though MOUZ strung together short bursts of resistance, Vitality’s determination proved overwhelming in key rounds. The scoreboard ended at 13-7, pushing the series to a decider.

All eyes were on the final map, Train. We witnessed both teams trading rounds in a tense back-and-forth contest, with the first half concluding 7-5 in favor of Vitality. That advantage, though modest, was sufficient for Vitality to stand poised for victory. Although MOUZ snagged the critical pistol round in the second half, Vitality responded with 5 consecutive round wins, advancing to match point at breakneck speed.

The final scoreboard on Train showcased flameZ with a top-fragging 21 kills on just 12 deaths, demonstrating impeccable aim and composure. Meanwhile, ZywOo contributed 18 kills and 7 assists, while apEX posted 15 kills and 10 assists, each also totaling 12 deaths. It was a masterclass in strategic offense from Vitality, who sealed their third straight CS2 trophy of 2025.

ZywOo’s MVP Dominance

The French star once again achieved a spectacular milestone in Lisbon, earning his 17th career LAN MVP award. This accolade eclipses s1mple’s record for offline MVP trophies, a remarkable feat that underscores ZywOo’s consistent brilliance. In this final, he secured a 1.44 rating and showcased his signature calm under pressure, never seeming rattled even when MOUZ captured back-to-back maps.

ZywOo’s MVP Dominance

With three trophies already in their cabinet for 2025, Team Vitality’s momentum appears unstoppable. This lineup radiates the confidence that typically emerges only after repeated exposure to championship pressure. We anticipate they will enter the forthcoming events as heavy favorites, though every top contender in the scene will undoubtedly develop new counter-strategies to dethrone the kings of CS2.
