BLAST.tv Austin Major is fast approaching, and Valve has released another update that brings some interesting changes for CS2 fans. This time, the focus is not so much on the launch of the Austin 2025 Viewer Pass, but on the new format of souvenir packs with video highlights from the playoff matches, as well as an updated notification icon that now displays important information in the game interface.
New generation souvenirs
This time, Valve has introduced a new format for souvenir packs, which will be available exclusively for playoff matches. What makes them unique is that these packs will contain weapons with an attached video keychain — a short clip featuring the best moment from the selected playoff map. The item description will highlight the key moments of the match, and the clip itself can be viewed in your Steam inventory or while watching the game.
Valve notes that it will take a little longer to create these souvenirs, so they will be available after the tournament is over. However, this is the first time that souvenirs will take such a personalized and interactive form.
What else is interesting
In addition to the changes related to the Major, the game has received an update to the notification icon, which now displays different types of messages: from connecting to the server to updating the client or blocking an account.
And another interesting fact — the official CS2 page on social network X has changed its banner… by adding just one tag to it. Valve remains true to its minimalist irony.
