Polish CS2 professional Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski has been moved to the bench by G2 Esports. The organization officially announced the decision via its X (formerly Twitter) page, thanking the veteran for his contribution over the past year.

Snax joined G2 in July 2024 and quickly became a key part of a roster that dominated the late 2024 season. During his time with the team, G2 lifted trophies at BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 and BLAST Premier: World Final 2024, and also reached the grand final of the Esports World Cup 2024, narrowly missing out on another title.

A successful year with trophies

After spending several years on tier-two teams, Snax found new life in G2, where he showcased consistency and veteran experience on the biggest stages. His playstyle fit seamlessly into the team’s structure, especially during the high-stakes playoff matches in the fall.

Throughout his time with G2, analysts estimate that Janusz earned around $250,000 USD in prize money and bonuses. His leadership and composure under pressure proved vital in the team’s most crucial moments.

Farewell from the organization

G2 posted a heartfelt farewell message on social media, writing:

“The Big Apple
We can’t thank Snax enough for his contributions and plays since joining us last year. We wouldn’t have been able to lift the BLAST Fall Final and BLAST World Final without you.”

Among the first reactions was a comment from GamerLegion:

“good luck Janusz”

As of the time of publication, none of the G2 players or Snax himself have commented publicly on the news.

What’s next?

Snax’s future remains uncertain. Given his recent success and proven skill level, it’s likely that he could soon join another ambitious lineup — potentially in a playing or even in-game leadership role.

G2 has not officially announced who will take Snax’s place in the active roster, but multiple reports suggest that Slovakian rifler MATYS is expected to replace him. This would mark MATYS’s first appearance on a Tier-1 roster and a major step forward in his career.
