Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, the legendary Counter-Strike player, has surprised fans once again — but not with his in-game skills this time. A fun freestyle track recorded with musician FLORY recently surfaced online, showing a completely different side of the esports icon.
New Hobby or Just for Laughs?
According to s1mple, the track was created spontaneously — in just two minutes, without any professional intentions. It’s a laid-back freestyle made in a casual setting, without deep meanings or polished production. He emphasized that this is not the start of a music career, just a fun experiment to entertain both himself and the fans.
The reaction online was instant — fans responded with memes, light-hearted jokes, and even remix attempts. Some praised the raw vibe, while others joked that s1mple now spits bars instead of reviewing demos.
“Guys, if someone doesn’t get it — it’s just a freestyle. We made the track with Romchik FLORY in 5 minutes. It’s just for fun, not some serious track. Come on, you serious?”

When Did s1mple Last Compete?
s1mple’s last official professional match took place on November 19, 2024, when he played for Team Falcons during the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 event. During the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, s1mple played for Team Falcons as a stand-in. However, the team’s performance was disappointing: Falcons failed to advance past the group stage, losing key matches. Although s1mple showed decent individual form, the team’s instability prevented them from reaching their full potential.
At this tournament, Falcons faced several top-tier teams but managed to secure only a limited number of victories, resulting in an early elimination before the playoffs. For s1mple, it symbolized the closing chapter of his brief return to professional play.
Prior to this, s1mple had announced a temporary break from professional Counter-Strike on October 26, 2023, and was replaced by w0nderful on October 31. He returned briefly to competitive play with Team Falcons but did not achieve significant success during this period.
As of now, s1mple has not participated in any official matches since his stint with Team Falcons in 2024.
“I don’t want to come back just for a contract. I want to win again.”

What Does This Mean for His Fans?
Even though he’s absent from the server, s1mple continues to be one of the most talked-about figures in the CS community. Whether it’s his sharp tournament commentary, interviews, or now — a freestyle rap — he still finds ways to entertain and surprise his audience.
This musical experiment might just be a one-off moment. Or maybe it’s a glimpse into how s1mple is exploring creative outlets outside the boundaries of esports.
