The first two teams to qualify for the second stage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 are HEROIC and B8. Both squads finished the opening phase with a flawless 3-0 record, defeating FlyQuest and Wildcard respectively. For HEROIC, it’s a confident return to form, while for B8, it’s a bold statement at their debut Major.
HEROIC vs FlyQuest
This match wasn’t a do-or-die situation, as the losing team would still have a chance to qualify through the 2-1 bracket. However, securing a 3-0 record provides a significant morale boost for HEROIC as they finish the group stage strong.
The first map was Ancient — FlyQuest’s pick. However, the Australian squad couldn’t capitalize on their choice and fell 7-13. HEROIC displayed solid defense and coordinated teamplay.
On the second map, Anubis, FlyQuest seemed in full control after a dominant 9-3 CT side. But after losing the pistol round, the tide turned — HEROIC won six rounds in a row, putting pressure on their opponents. Despite the scare, FlyQuest managed to edge out the win, 13-11.

The decider was Mirage. The first half ended evenly at 6-6, but in the second half, FlyQuest failed to win a single round on defense. HEROIC took complete control and closed it out 13-6, advancing to the next stage of the Austin Major with a perfect 3-0. FlyQuest will continue in the 2-1 bracket.

B8 vs Wildcard
This Major marks B8’s debut after a tough journey through the closed qualifiers. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian team isn’t backing down — they’ve already secured their spot in the second stage with a clean 3-0 record.
The first map was Train, picked by Wildcard. Both halves mirrored each other: 7-5 in favor of Wildcard in the first and 7-5 for B8 in the second. With the score tied at 12-12 at the end of regulation, Wildcard kept their composure in overtime and claimed the map 16-14.
On Dust2, their map pick, B8 looked far more confident. After a close first half (7-5), they won six straight rounds on the CT side to seal the map 13-6.

Fun fact: Dust2 is headtr1ck’s best LAN map. His previous record was a 1.98 rating versus Grayhound at ESL Pro League Season 17.
The third and final map, Inferno, was a one-sided display from B8. They stormed through the first half 10-2, and quickly closed the game out in the second half, finishing 13-2. With that, B8 join HEROIC in the next stage with a perfect 3-0, while Wildcard drop to the 2-1 bracket.

HEROIC and B8 March Forward Undefeated
HEROIC and B8 are the first two teams to secure a place in the second stage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major with a 3-0 record. Both rosters demonstrated confident play, strong team spirit, and the ability to bounce back under pressure. FlyQuest and Wildcard still have a chance to advance, but their road has become tougher — up next, they face hard matches in the 2-1 bracket.
