The FISSURE Playground 1 tournament in Belgrade is heating up. On the second day of competition, July 16, the stage hosted a marathon of eight best-of-three matches — a day packed with emotions, shocks, and a reshaping of the tournament picture. Among the standout performers: JamYoung, molodoy, Ex3rcice, and S1ren. Among the teams heading home: Virtus.pro, Heroic, Rare Atom, and Wildcard.

FURIA vs Wildcard — A Ruthless Execution (2:0)

  • Train (13:2), Inferno (13:3)
  • molodoy — 40–8, 108.4 ADR, 2.09 rating
  • YEKINDAR — 27–17, 1.65 rating

The Brazilians gave Wildcard no breathing room. In every aspect — from pistols to trades — FURIA looked like a machine. This was the first series of the event where a team scored fewer than six rounds total. molodoy played fearlessly and aggressively, dominating the map. Wildcard, on the other hand, collapsed entirely — their team KAST dropped to around 50%, indicating a complete breakdown in synergy.

Virtus.pro Eliminated by MIBR (0:2)

  • Train (10:13), Mirage (8:13)
  • brnz4n — 43–28, 1.52 rating
  • electroNic — 16–34, 0.62 rating

A loss that could have serious consequences. VP were defeated without showing any real advantage — no plan B, no mid-game adaptation. The legendary lineup looked lost, especially electroNic, who has struggled to reach his former leadership level for several tournaments now. Meanwhile, MIBR looked confident, aggressive, and composed. saffee, insani, and brnz4n are clearly forming a new core that drives the team forward.

3DMAX Destroy Rare Atom After Dramatic Start (2:0)

  • Dust2 (19:15 OT), Ancient (13:1)
  • Ex3rcice — 49–26, 1.59 rating
  • Graviti — 42–30, 1.29 rating

The French squad pulled off a tough win on Dust2 after coming back from a 12:15 deficit. Then on Ancient, they completely wiped Rare Atom off the server. The Chinese side looked unfocused, lacking leadership and positional structure. Ex3rcice was on another level — constantly finding entries and controlling retakes.

GamerLegion Leave No Chance for SAW (2:0)

  • Nuke (13:7), Ancient (13:7)
  • Tauson — 34–21, 1.30 rating
  • PR and Kursy — confident and consistent

This was a textbook showing from GamerLegion. Great preparation, clean rotations, and aggression under control. SAW had decent setups but failed to execute — their plans were consistently read and countered. This may be one of the strongest versions of GL we’ve seen lately.

Lynn Vision Beat paiN — Again Thanks to a Strong Anubis (2:1)

  • Dust2 (13:9), Nuke (10:13), Anubis (13:5)
  • z4kr — 59–34, 1.52 rating

The Chinese squad continues to impress — and again, Anubis was the key. Even though paiN managed to take their map pick, they couldn’t adapt to Lynn Vision’s fast and aggressive style on the decider. snow performed well for the Brazilians, but the rest of the team couldn’t match the pace.

BetBoom Eliminate Heroic in a Nerve-Wracking Series (2:1)

  • Nuke (11:13), Ancient (13:10), Anubis (13:10)
  • S1ren — 53–44, 1.25 rating
  • ArtFr0st — 53–44, 1.07 rating

Heroic had the upper hand — leading 9:4 on Anubis — but fell apart in the clutch. BetBoom kept their cool, playing solid defense and unorthodox offense. Boombl4 and Magnojez executed key retakes, while Ax1Le stepped up with a few vital multi-kills in critical moments.

TYLOO Crush Astralis — Even with Their Coach Playing (2:1)

  • Mirage (13:9), Nuke (8:13), Inferno (13:6)
  • JamYoung — 58–38, 1.59 rating
  • Mercury — 48–40, 1.19 rating

Despite playing with coach zhokiNg instead of Jee, TYLOO looked on fire. JamYoung was a rock on every map. Astralis tried to stay composed, but couldn’t hold off the aggressive and confident Chinese side. stavn and HooXi underperformed — their impact was minimal throughout the series.

Complexity Survive Marathon Series Against BIG (2:1)

  • Dust2 (13:16), Train (19:17 OT), Nuke (13:10)
  • hallzerk — 71–54, 1.21 rating
  • Krimbo (BIG) — 66–55, 1.16 rating

The match ended close to midnight — and it was worth the wait. Complexity nearly dropped their own map pick, but pulled off a comeback on Train in overtime thanks to clutch plays from JT and Grim. BIG looked solid, especially tabseN, but it was small positioning errors that cost them in the end.

Takeaways and Tournament Standings:

  • Eliminated: Virtus.pro, Heroic, Rare Atom, Wildcard
  • Playoffs Secured (Group Winners): GamerLegion, FURIA, Lynn Vision, TYLOO
  • Still in Contention: BetBoom, 3DMAX, MIBR, Complexity
  • Biggest Surprise: Chinese teams (TYLOO and Lynn Vision) leading the charge
  • Under Pressure: Astralis, paiN, BIG — still have one shot left to make playoffs

Next up — July 17:

Decider matches for second place in groups and the start of the single-elimination playoff bracket. Expect even more drama and surprises — the tournament is only just heating up.
