The second day of the PGL Astana 2025 group stage brought even more drama, intrigue, and emotion. Teams that started strong tried to solidify their positions, while those who lost on Day One fought to avoid the brink of elimination. We witnessed dominance, comebacks, and individual performances that are already among the top highlights of the tournament.
The MongolZ vs MIBR
The MongolZ continue to crush their opponents with confident and mature play. Against MIBR, they won both maps — 13:5 on Mirage and 13:6 on Anubis. The team looked incredibly organized: aggressive entries, structured defense, and hardly any mistakes in key moments. senzu once again led the charge — 34 kills, multiple opening duels won, and consistent presence in every round. MIBR tried to increase the tempo, but MongolZ calmly dismantled every attack.
Astralis vs paiN
The Danish machine known as Astralis keeps rolling, even during a transitional phase. After beating ODDIK on Day One, they left no chance for paiN — 13:4 on Nuke and 13:9 on Inferno. stavn stood out with a commanding performance, not only fragging but dictating the tempo in mid-rounds. Meanwhile, jabbi controlled entry points and rotation timings. paiN tried to play fast and aggressive but ran into a well-drilled defense and polished counterplay.

NAVI vs BIG
NAVI are slowly morphing into serious title contenders. In the matchup against BIG, they secured two hard-fought victories — 13:10 on Mirage and 13:8 on Inferno. The games were tight: BIG fought to the last round, but NAVI consistently won the most crucial moments. AWPer w0nderful proved his elite form once again — 31 frags and excellent impact, even in rounds without the AWP. Both iM and jL were solid in their roles as entry fraggers and traders.
Spirit vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
Team Spirit destroyed NiP across two maps — 16:13 on Train and 13:4 on Dust2. It was a complete display of dominance. donk, as expected, was the series MVP: 51 kills, over 100 ADR, and a 1.66 rating. But the team’s coordination also deserves praise: chopper read the opponent like a book, and zont1x delivered reliable performances on both sides of the map. NiP looked lost, especially on defense — they couldn’t stop a single structured attack.
Virtus.pro vs M80
Virtus.pro earned a desperately needed victory. After losing to NiP, the “bears” bounced back by defeating M80 2-1 — 9:13 on Ancient, 13:8 on Mirage, and a 13:10 decider on Inferno. FL1T had a huge series — 50 kills and a 1.25 rating. M80 looked dangerous, especially on Ancient, but they lacked the experience to close out rounds under pressure. VP pulled together exactly when it mattered most.

FURIA vs GamerLegion
FURIA’s revamped Brazilian roster finally showed their claws. In a grueling best-of-three, they overcame GamerLegion — 13:9 on Anubis, 7:13 on the second Anubis (double pick), and 13:9 on Nuke. molodoy was the central figure, playing with aggression, initiating entries, and setting the tempo for his team. GamerLegion didn’t fall behind in aim duels, but once again struggled to close out decisive rounds. This win gives FURIA a much-needed lifeline in the group.
Aurora vs HOTU
Aurora made a strong comeback against HOTU. Mirage ended 13:9, Anubis 13:16, and Nuke 13:11. The squad led by XANTARES played with speed, precision, and aggression in all key moments. LACK1 and Norwi were on fire — winning opening duels, anchoring bombsites, and maintaining control across key areas of the map. HOTU now face their second straight defeat — and although there were some bright moments individually, the team play remains shaky.
G2 vs ODDIK
G2 suffered a surprising defeat against ODDIK in a three-map series that ended 1-2. After a rough start on Anubis (8:13), where ksloks delivered a standout performance, the European squad bounced back on Dust2, crushing their opponents 13:3 thanks to a confident showing from malbsMd. However, the decider on Nuke went in favor of the Brazilians (13:9), with ksloks once again playing a pivotal role. As a result, G2 drop to a 0-2 record, while ODDIK remain in contention at 1-1.
