3DMAX and Falcons have ended their run at the tournament after falling short in the decisive matches for the playoffs. Despite standout performances from individual stars like huNter-, malbsMd, and kyousuke, both teams failed to break through. Meanwhile, G2 and FURIA will face off in the lower bracket final, where only one will keep their hopes for the trophy alive.
3DMAX vs G2
3DMAX began their journey at the tournament in the Play-in stage, where they lost only to NiP but secured crucial victories over MIBR and TYLOO — the reigning champions of FISSURE Playground 1. In the main stage, they opened with a loss to The MongolZ, bounced back against GamerLegion, but ultimately fell to G2 in the deciding match with a 0–2 scoreline.
The clash kicked off on Ancient, where 3DMAX kept the first half close, trailing narrowly 5–7. However, they couldn’t contain G2’s offense after the side switch, ending the map 8–13. On Inferno, G2’s map pick, the first half was tightly contested and ended in a 6–6 draw. But in the second half, 3DMAX completely collapsed on the T side, failing to win a single round as G2 closed it out comfortably — 13–6.
Two G2 players stood out in this series: malbsMd led in kills with 30, while huNter- posted the highest average damage — 84.7 — and finished with the top rating of the match at 1.35.
Falcons vs FURIA
Falcons’ opening win against GamerLegion in the main stage hinted at a new beginning for the team, but disappointing losses to The MongolZ and FURIA sent them packing. For FURIA, the campaign started with a loss to G2, but they bounced back by beating Astralis and Falcons, proving their BLAST.tv Austin Major finalist status was no fluke.
The match began on Train, where the revamped Falcons lineup led by kyousuke took firm control, ending the first half 9–3. Despite a tighter second half, they never gave up their advantage and closed the map 13–7. On Mirage, Falcons again led at the break — 7–5 — but KSCERATO and company mounted a strong offensive half to tie the series, narrowly avoiding overtime with a 13–11 win.
Dust2 became the decider, and kyousuke started strong with an ACE in the pistol round. However, even that wasn’t enough — Falcons couldn’t win a single T round in the second half, and FURIA sealed the deal 13–7.
Despite the loss, kyousuke was the best performer of the series: 65 kills, 96.2 ADR, and a 1.51 rating across three maps.
What’s next?
3DMAX finish their IEM Cologne 2025 run in 9th–12th place, earning $16,000 in prize money. Falcons share the same placement — and despite kyousuke’s incredible performance, the team couldn’t advance.
G2 and FURIA will now meet in the lower bracket final, where only one will continue their journey toward the trophy.
