As part of the group stage at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, we’re set for an intriguing clash between Nemiga and BetBoom — two teams going through rough patches but still capable of bouncing back. Both rosters have the experience and firepower to fight for a playoff spot, and the bo1 format only adds to the unpredictability. In this preview, we’ll analyze their current form, map pool, head-to-head history, and give a prediction on the outcome.

Current Form

Nemiga
Over the past three months, Nemiga has played 75 maps, winning 40 of them. Their results in May have been mixed: 9–10th at ESL Challenger League Season 49: Europe, 3–4th at CCT Season 3 European Series #1, and a disappointing 9–16th at Galaxy Battle 2025 Phase 2. In their last five matches, they secured only two wins — against ECSTATIC and Monte — and lost to SINNERS, ENCE, and RUSH B.

BetBoom
BetBoom played 82 maps in the past three months and won 48. In May, they participated in three tournaments: 9–16th at both Thunderpick World Championship 2025: European Series #1 and CCT S3 European Series #1, and 3–4th at A1 Gaming League Season 10. Their recent form has been poor, with only one win (against GUN5) and losses to ECSTATIC (twice), RUBY, and HEROIC.

Map Pool

In a bo1 format, the map veto is critical. Nemiga is likely to ban Nuke, their least played and most avoided map. In response, BetBoom will probably remove Inferno, despite a 100% win rate — they’ve only played it once. Nemiga may then ban Anubis, considering BetBoom’s strong record there, while BetBoom will likely ban Dust2, where Nemiga has a 70% win rate.

This would leave Mirage, Ancient, or Train as potential deciders. The most likely pick is Ancient, a map both teams frequently play, albeit with different success levels.

Head-to-Head

Nemiga and BetBoom have faced each other three times in the past six months. BetBoom took the first two matches:

  • Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2025: EU Qualifier — BetBoom won 2-1 (Train 13:8, Mirage 13:16, Anubis 13:6)
  • PGL Bucharest 2025: EU Qualifier — BetBoom won 2-0 (Ancient 16:14, Mirage 13:7)

However, Nemiga won their most recent encounter in a bo1 during the Major qualifiers — Ancient 13:4 — which may give them a psychological edge.

Match Prediction

Given both teams’ inconsistency and the bo1 format, the result may come down to the map and early momentum. Nemiga performs well on Dust2 and Inferno, though those are likely to be banned. If Ancient or Mirage ends up being played, it could be a very close match. While Nemiga may take confidence from their recent head-to-head win, BetBoom still has the stronger roster on paper and can break through if they hit form.

Comment from tedd:

“BetBoom has a roster worthy of a tier-1 or at least tier-1.5 team, though they’re currently in a tough spot. They’re going through a rough patch, but they’re still capable of explosive form — especially in bo1s, where they usually perform well. Nemiga is an unpredictable team, but I believe BetBoom has a solid chance to win. They’re still in the game.”

Prediction: BetBoom to win — narrowly.
