Three new playoff contenders were determined after another crucial day of the group stage at PGL Major in Astana. FURIA, Astralis, and NAVI secured important victories and guaranteed their spots among the tournament’s top eight. Up next are the decisive matches for the remaining quarterfinal slots, where several teams will fight for their last chance to reach the playoffs.

FURIA vs ODDIK

FURIA proved that the recent additions of YEKINDAR and molodoy are already having a positive impact on the team. In their match against ODDIK, they looked dominant and won convincingly with scores of 13:7 on Anubis and 13:6 on Train. YEKINDAR was the standout performer, finishing both maps with 36 kills, an average damage of 102.3, and a 1.58 rating.

For ODDIK, the journey isn’t over yet — they still have one last chance to reach the playoffs in a deciding match against Aurora.

Astralis vs Virtus.pro

It was a hard-fought battle for Astralis. The first map went into overtime, where the Danish squad managed to snatch the win. They then lost the second map 9:13 but bounced back on Ancient with the same scoreline — this time in their favor. The victory brought Astralis to a 3-1 record and a well-earned spot in the playoffs.

Despite an outstanding performance by FL1T — 72 kills, 96.9 ADR, and a 1.38 rating — it wasn’t enough to carry Virtus.pro through.

Virtus.pro will now face MIBR in a do-or-die match for a place in the quarterfinals.

NAVI gave their fans a bit of a scare in the match against Aurora. Both maps went in favor of the “Born to Win” squad, but the scorelines were close. The first map, Train, ended 13:11, while Inferno finished 13:10. NAVI had lost the first half 5:7 but came back strong on the CT side.

iM was one of the key contributors to the victory, putting up 41 kills, 89.1 ADR, and a 1.29 rating.

Aurora will still have a shot at making the playoffs — they face ODDIK in a must-win match.
