Premier Mode in Counter-Strike 2 has been temporarily disabled following the conclusion of the second competitive season. The most active players will receive commemorative rewards, while the new season is set to launch very soon.

What is Premier Mode?

Premier is CS2’s main competitive format, designed to replicate the conditions of professional play. It features a map pick/ban phase, a global CS Rating system, the MR12 round format, and overtime rounds. Unlike the standard Competitive mode, results in Premier affect a player’s global standing rather than their rank on individual maps. This mode attracts the most motivated players aiming to prove their skills at the highest level.

Valve disables Premier Mode in CS2

On July 14, Valve temporarily disabled Premier Mode in CS2 due to the end of Season Two. According to the developers, Season Three is just around the corner, so players won’t have to wait long to jump back in.

Players who won at least 25 matches in Premier and had a visible CS Rating at the time of the season’s conclusion will receive a special commemorative medal. The medal will be displayed in their profile as a token of achievement for the season.

What’s next?

The temporary shutdown of Premier Mode is standard practice for Valve between seasons. It allows time to reset ratings, implement updates, or rebalance gameplay. Premier will return soon with Season Three, giving players—new and experienced alike—another chance to climb the ranks from a fresh start.
