As part of the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 1 group stage, we’re in for an intriguing clash between Spirit and FlyQuest. The two teams come into this match with very different levels of form and experience, making this a crucial test—especially for FlyQuest. In this prediction, we’ll break down the teams’ recent performances, map pools, and provide a detailed analysis of the expected outcome.

Current Form of the Teams

Spirit

Spirit have shown strong and confident performances in recent months. Out of 43 maps played, they’ve won 30, demonstrating a high level of consistency. In April, they participated only at PGL Bucharest, where they reached the semifinals, defeating top-tier opponents such as NAVI, Virtus.pro, and FaZe. Their only losses came against elite teams Vitality and MOUZ.

FlyQuest

Compared to Spirit, FlyQuest’s form is far less convincing. Over the past three months, they played 36 maps and won just 15. At IEM Melbourne, they were eliminated early, finishing 9-12th. However, one bright spot was their first-place finish in the regional qualifiers for BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. In their last five matches, they picked up three wins—twice against SempeFi and once against Virtus.pro—but suffered losses to NAVI and Vitality.

Map Pool

Spirit almost always ban Inferno, which is considered a weak map for them. Instead, they prefer Dust2 (played 11 times with an outstanding 91% win rate), Nuke (64%), and Ancient (60%). They also have a perfect record on Train, although it’s picked less frequently.

FlyQuest typically ban Mirage—despite having a 100% win rate on the map, they don’t feel confident playing it consistently. When picking maps, they aim to target their opponent’s weaknesses and often choose Inferno (42%) or Anubis (50%). Their strongest maps include Mirage, Dust2, and Train.

Predicted Bans and Picks:

Spirit are expected to remove Inferno first, as usual, while FlyQuest will likely ban Mirage. Spirit’s pick should be Dust2, where they dominate statistically. FlyQuest will likely respond with Anubis, which plays to their comfort zone and could challenge Spirit. In the second round of bans, Spirit may eliminate Train to avoid giving FlyQuest an edge, while FlyQuest will likely ban Ancient. That would leave Nuke as the decider.

Head-to-Head Matchups

Over the past six months, Spirit and FlyQuest haven’t faced each other on the professional stage. This adds extra intrigue to the matchup, as both teams will be preparing without any direct prior experience against one another.

Match Prediction

Spirit currently look far stronger—both statistically and in terms of the caliber of opponents they’ve defeated recently. FlyQuest show flashes of potential but lack consistency, especially when facing top-tier teams like Spirit. The map pool also favors Spirit, especially if they can utilize Dust2 and avoid playing Train. Taking all factors into account, Spirit are clear favorites and have every chance of closing this match with a 2:0 scoreline.
