In the social network X, Serbian coach kassad claimed that Norwegian player Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad owes €300,000 to various individuals. In his post, he also published a copy of jkaem’s passport as evidence but later deleted the post and promised to resolve the situation privately.

What Happened?

In March, CS2 skin trader Magnus “erlsan” accused jkaem of borrowing in-game skins worth over $10,000 for the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, then losing them through gambling without permission and failing to return them. Following this, other members of the skin community also voiced complaints, claiming jkaem had scammed them out of skins as well.

In a now-deleted post on X, kassad revealed that jkaem owed £50,000 to British player smooya and scammed Swedish pro Hampus “hampus” Poser for skins. The Serbian coach paid the £50,000 debt himself, lending the money to jkaem under a signed agreement. As proof, he posted the contract and a copy of jkaem’s passport. Although he tried to conceal sensitive information, the post exposed jkaem’s hometown and passport number along with other personal data. BC.Game had promised to reimburse this debt from their own funds, but so far, that has not happened.

What jkaem Says

Despite the ongoing controversy, jkaem has admitted his wrongdoing, saying he “messed up badly” and that there is “more than one instance” of such behavior. He pledged to repay everyone he owes—whether in money or skins—and said he’s working with the BC.Game team to fix the situation. He also admitted to suffering from a gambling addiction since the age of 18 and has tried to seek help multiple times without success.

Community Reaction

After erlsan’s post, other community members shared their thoughts on the matter. A Reddit user named Leo Biazzi stated that jkaem’s total debt might exceed €300,000 and suggested more accusations could surface. Others speculated about potential match-fixing due to his gambling problem and financial issues.

Well-known Danish skin trader zipeL commented under jkaem’s post admitting guilt:

“Repaying the debt is the ‘easy’ step, especially with BC’s help. Honesty goes much deeper. It means truly acknowledging the depth of your problems, showing real vulnerability, and surrendering to the situation you’ve put yourself in.” – zipel’s comment on X

What’s Next?

This situation could have serious consequences for both jkaem and his team BC.Game. For the player, it’s not just a reputational blow but a threat to the trust of the community, partners, and tournament organizers. Additionally, the outstanding debts and fraud accusations could impact his professional CS career, including potential legal consequences.

For BC.Game, this is a significant image risk that raises questions about their player selection process and internal controls. If the organization fails to take action or resolve the issue, it could damage their sponsorship deals, reputation, and even eligibility in international competitions.
