FISSURE Playground organizers have begun assembling the lineup for the second edition of the tournament series, which will take place in Belgrade. The first confirmed teams include Falcons, G2, Astralis, Virtus.pro, FURIA, and Aurora.
Unexpected Heroes of the First Playground
The inaugural FISSURE Playground took place from July 15 to 20 at the Sava Centar in Belgrade. The event gathered teams from around the globe and featured a prize pool of $450,000, with $150,000 awarded to the champions. The biggest surprise came from Chinese squad TYLOO, who managed to upset the favorites and secure a stunning victory in the grand final. Their triumph became one of the most talked-about moments of the CS2 summer and earned them well-deserved international recognition.
First Six Invites to FISSURE Playground 2
Following the success of the debut event, organizers have announced the first six teams to accept invites for the second FISSURE Playground, which will now be held at the larger Belgrade Arena. The group stage is set to begin on September 12.
The confirmed teams so far are:
- Falcons – A star-studded European lineup led by Bosnian superstar NiKo
- G2 – One of the most popular organizations in global CS
- Astralis – The legendary Danish powerhouse
- Virtus.pro – An experienced team from Russia
- FURIA – The Brazilian squad returning for their second Playground appearance
- Aurora – A rising team from Turkey
The event will feature 16 teams in total, meaning 10 more invites are yet to be announced. The prize pool is set at $500,000, with $200,000 going to the champion.
Bigger Arena, Bigger Ambitions
Moving the tournament to the Belgrade Arena marks a significant step forward for FISSURE, as the organizers aim to establish Playground as one of the premier events in the CS2 calendar. Although less than half of the venue’s seats are currently available for purchase, the presence of high-profile teams, especially Falcons with NiKo, is sure to generate strong interest.
FISSURE Playground 2 promises to be bigger, flashier, and even more competitive — and CS fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this emerging series.
