From June 12 to 15, the city of Austin, USA, will host the third stage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Sixteen teams — eight directly invited and eight who made it through Stage 2 — will battle in a high-stakes Swiss format. For the favorites, it’s a chance to solidify their dominance. For the underdogs, it’s the final hurdle before reaching the playoffs of the season’s most prestigious event.
Stage 3 Format (June 12-15, 2025)
Rounds 2 through 5 will follow the Swiss system using the Buchholz method and initial seedings. Elimination and advancement matches will be played in Best of 3 (Bo3) format, while all other matches will follow the Best of 1 (Bo1) format. By the end of this stage, the top 8 teams will advance to the playoffs, while the bottom 8 will be eliminated from the tournament.

Stage 3 kicks off with a set of explosive matchups. Each one could produce an upset and create new storylines:

After these matches, Round 2 will begin immediately, with pairings based on the results of the opening round. By the end of Round 2, we’ll already have a glimpse of the early favorites — and the teams in danger of elimination.
Only the Strong Survive
Stage 3 is the most demanding part of the entire Major. There’s no room for mistakes — only 8 out of 16 teams will make it to the playoffs of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Every round matters. Lose your grip here, and the dream of becoming Major champion ends.
