One of the most recognized academies in the CS scene has concluded its four-year journey. Astralis Talent developed dozens of players, claimed local trophies, and left a lasting mark on youth development. Now — it’s officially over.

The Beginning: How the Academy Was Born
Astralis Talent was founded in November 2020 as a strategic initiative to develop young players and create a vertically integrated system between the academy and the main roster. At a time when leading esports organizations were heavily investing in youth structures (NAVI Junior, BIG Academy, mouz NXT), Astralis chose not to stay on the sidelines.
The first lineup included promising Danish players — R0nic, void, Zyphon, vester, vigg0, and MistR. From the very beginning, the organization emphasized local development, structured training discipline, and rotation potential into the main team.
Milestones That Shaped Astralis Talent
Between 2020 and 2024, Astralis Talent made their mark on both the domestic and international scenes.
POWER Ligaen — The Pinnacle

Season 22 (March 2023): Astralis Talent claimed the championship title in the Danish POWER Ligaen after a convincing 2–0 win over CEPTER. This became the team’s most notable national triumph.
European Competitions and the WePlay Academy League
Astralis Talent participated in multiple seasons of the WePlay Academy League — a tournament that became the testing ground for young talent worldwide. While they didn’t always reach the playoffs, they consistently competed against top academies like mouz NXT, Spirit Academy, and BIG Academy.
A Launchpad for Future Pros
Astralis Talent was not just a team — it was a training ground that helped nurture several players who broke into the upper echelons of competitive CS:
- Zyphon — one of the first graduates who reached the tier-1 level with teams like Sprout and Copenhagen Flames.
- MistR — featured in the main Astralis lineup in 2022 during a transitional period.
- Altekz — also promoted to the main team before continuing his career with PROSPECTS and other international squads.
- Fessor, br0, kwezz — promising talents who built solid tier-2 careers.
These cases validated Astralis Talent’s development model — not aimed at instant success, but long-term growth.
Final Roster at the Time of Closure
At the time of the official announcement, Astralis Talent’s active roster consisted of:

The team was coached by Dennis “vnG” Rytter, a former professional player and seasoned mentor. Since 2022, he had overseen the academy project, fostering discipline, map pool evolution, and team cohesion.

Astralis explained the decision as part of a broader internal reorganization. The main reasons cited were:
- Resource optimization: refocusing efforts on core operations like the main CS2 roster and commercial expansion.
- Financial pressures: following a reported revenue drop and shrinking active audience since 2023.
- Low conversion rate: despite its developmental impact, the academy had not produced stable first-team talent in the past two years.
