On their path to a title that cements a new era, TYLOO confidently overcame Astralis in the grand final of FISSURE Playground 1 with a 3–1 victory. In a tense series, the Chinese side, led by the incredible JamYoung, dropped only the first map before taking full control — 10:13 on Inferno, 13:4 on Nuke, 16:14 on Mirage, and 13:10 on Ancient. This win not only earns TYLOO the trophy at the $1,000,000 event in Belgrade but also marks the beginning of a new chapter in Asian Counter-Strike.

Pre-match context

Both teams entered the final in peak form. Astralis, with their rebuilt roster led by HooXi, advanced through a tough group stage where they beat MIBR and Lynn Vision, and then knocked out BetBoom in the semifinals. TYLOO, on the other hand, emerged as the tournament’s biggest revelation: they beat Virtus.pro, Astralis (in the group stage), 3DMAX, and SAW — showing depth, consistency, and a new level of tactical maturity.

Map 1 — Inferno: 10–13

Astralis played with structure and composure. The first half ended in a 6:6 draw, but the Danes completely shut down TYLOO’s attack after the side switch. HooXi was the surprise MVP of the map — 18 frags, 91 ADR, 4 opening kills, and clutch impact. TYLOO’s playbook felt flat and limited, especially on the T side. Jee tried to make an impact with the AWP, but their overall coordination fell short.

Map 2 — Nuke: 13–4

TYLOO struck back with dominance. Starting on CT-side, they won 10 rounds with nearly flawless execution. Jee became an AWP monster — 10 sniper kills, over 130 ADR, and a 2.16 rating. JamYoung controlled the upper site, won multiple clutch rounds, and disrupted Astralis’ structure. Even device looked lost. Astralis couldn’t adapt to TYLOO’s fast rotations and high-pressure pacing.

Map 3 — Mirage: 16–14

The most dramatic map of the series. TYLOO trailed 5:7 at the half, but JamYoung shifted into overdrive in the second — 30 frags, 6 opening kills, 107 ADR, 1.62 rating. Astralis kept fighting, with Staehr and device winning key rounds, but JamYoung won back-to-back 1v2 clutch rounds to turn the tide. Jee contributed 9 AWP kills, and Mercury added 8 assists.

Map 4 — Ancient: 13–10

Astralis looked exhausted, despite starting well. device and stavn found early entries, but after 5:5, the momentum crumbled. JamYoung continued to shine — 27 frags, 107 ADR, 1.61 rating. Mosesyuh finally came alive after a quiet series with 6 opening kills. Jee was once again sharp with the AWP. The key moment came when Mercury clutched a crucial 1v1 on the B site, sealing the map and the series.

Astralis’ performance: progress, but lack of depth

Astralis had a great start on Inferno, but gradually lost control of the series. HooXi was their most impactful player (1.09 rating across the series), with device and stavn playing consistently. However, Staehr struggled significantly (44–68, -24, 0.78 rating). The team often lost mid-round control and failed to respond to TYLOO’s multifaceted aggression. When JamYoung started dominating, Astralis had no answer and no backup plan.

Player statistics

Player of the Match — Yi “JamYoung” Yang

  • K-D: 90–56
  • ADR: 99.3
  • Rating: 1.45 (peaking at 1.84 on Nuke)

JamYoung was the face of TYLOO’s triumph. His individual brilliance, clutch decision-making, and consistency across all four maps were instrumental to their title run. This was one of the best series in his career — and in TYLOO’s history.

TYLOO’s FISSURE Playground 1 title run was no fluke. Their style — a blend of aggression, structure, and individual brilliance — proved too much for every opponent. They defeated Astralis twice at the tournament, took down top teams from different regions, and showed that Asian CS2 is back on the international map.

Astralis showed clear improvement but still have work ahead. FISSURE Playground 1 will be remembered as the tournament where TYLOO lifted a major trophy after years in the shadows — and announced themselves as a force to be reckoned with in CS2’s new era.
