IEM Melbourne 2025 marks another prestigious stop on the professional CS2 calendar, taking place from April 21 to 27 in Australia. The tournament features 16 teams from around the world, all competing not just for glory but also for a hefty $125,000 prize for the winner. With a total prize pool of $1 million, IEM Melbourne is one of the most significant events of the spring season. The stage in Australia will host both elite favorites and hungry underdogs, promising a week full of thrilling matches, surprising results, and top-tier CS action.

FaZe vs paiN

The group stage kicked off with FaZe taking on paiN in a best-of-three series. The European giants secured a 2-0 victory, but the Brazilian squad made them work for it. On the first map, Anubis, paiN unexpectedly won the first half 8:4, but FaZe rallied in the second half and closed it out 13:11.

Inferno ended with the same score — 13:11 in favor of FaZe.

Despite the loss, paiN showed strong form. Their standout player was dav1deuS, who recorded 36 kills and 88 ADR. On the FaZe side, broky led with 22 AWP kills, while rain posted the highest rating at 1.17.

The MongolZ vs Complexity

One of the biggest surprises of the opening day came from The MongolZ, who upset Complexity 2:1. The North American team came in as favorites, but the Mongolians showed grit and determination.

On Anubis, The MongolZ led 8:4 at halftime but faltered in defense and lost 11:13. However, they struck back on Ancient — after two mirrored halves (10:2 and 2:10), they edged out Complexity in overtime with a 16:13 win. The final map, Inferno, went to The MongolZ as well — 13:10. Although grim was the standout individual with 65 kills, 99.6 ADR, and a 1.34 rating, it wasn’t enough to carry Complexity over the finish line.

3DMAX vs GamerLegion

GamerLegion had a confident showing in their first match against 3DMAX. Ancient ended in a dominant 13:4 win, and although 3DMAX tried to respond on the second map, they fell short again — 13:8.

The best performer in this matchup was PR, who tallied 36 kills, 97.2 ADR, and a 1.52 overall rating.

MOUZ vs BIG

Although MOUZ secured a 2:1 victory, BIG managed to surprise many by winning the first map, Inferno, 13:6 — an unexpected result given their recent poor form. However, MOUZ regained control and closed out the series with wins on Mirage (13:9) and Ancient (13:8).

xertioN led the kill count with 44, while Spinx had the highest ADR at 83.2 and the best rating of the match — 1.2.

Don’t forget — IEM Melbourne 2025 runs from April 21 to 27, with 16 teams battling for the top spot and the $125,000 prize.
