In the quarter-finals of the LAN stage at FISSURE Playground 1, Russian side BetBoom secured an important victory over European squad GamerLegion with a 2-1 scoreline (9:13 Dust2, 13:7 Ancient, 13:8 Mirage). Despite a rough start, BetBoom turned the series around with excellent coordination, strong individual form, and composure in the most critical moments.
Road to the quarter-final
GamerLegion had a dominant group stage, taking down SAW (2:0) and Wildcard (2:1), which allowed them to top their group undefeated. The team looked composed and well-structured, showcasing a flexible map pool and consistent fragging from their leaders.
BetBoom had a tougher path: they edged past HEROIC (2:1), suffered a close loss to Complexity (1:2), and then clinched a key win over BIG (2:1) to secure second place in their group. That final victory proved a psychological turning point, as the team showed they could regroup under pressure.
Map 1 — Dust2 (GamerLegion 13:9 BetBoom)
GamerLegion kicked off the series with a confident win on Dust2. Danish AWPer Tauson delivered one of his best performances of the tournament with 24 kills, 119.2 ADR, and a 1.66 rating. REZ backed him up with 7 assists and a solid anchor role on A site.
BetBoom only managed to win 3 rounds on T side, and despite ArtFr0st’s efforts (9 AWP kills, 4 opening frags), it wasn’t enough. GamerLegion played smart positional CS and timed their retakes to perfection.
Map 2 — Ancient (GamerLegion 7:13 BetBoom)
BetBoom answered immediately. After a weak showing on Dust2, the team completely reset. Magnojez took over mid control with an aggressive style, finishing the map with 20 frags and a 1.70 rating, while Boombl4 posted 6 entry kills, giving his team the early-round edge.
GamerLegion managed only 6 opening kills total, indicating a lack of initiative and space. None of the GL players exceeded a 0.85 rating, and their setups were consistently dismantled by BetBoom’s reads.
Map 3 — Mirage (GamerLegion 8:13 BetBoom)
The decider was the tensest map of the series. GamerLegion won the first three rounds on T side, but BetBoom quickly stabilized their economy and went on to take 9 of the next 10 rounds. ArtFr0st was everywhere — 21 kills, 95.9 ADR, 1.58 rating — with outstanding AWP control and strong backup from Ax1Le and Boombl4.
GamerLegion tried to bounce back on CT side with two clutch wins, but the momentum was already gone. Fatigue and hesitation in positioning cost them dearly in the late game.

Commentary & Takeaways
Despite losing the first map, BetBoom showed adaptability, mental resilience, and a deep map pool, which allowed them to shift the momentum of the series. ArtFr0st’s standout form was the key factor in their two map wins, while Magnojez and Ax1Le provided consistent impact throughout.
For GamerLegion, this is a painful loss. They looked strong on Dust2 but completely lost rhythm on Ancient and Mirage. Special attention must be paid to the underperformance of ztr, Kursy, and PR, all of whom ended the series with ratings below 0.80.
BetBoom advance to the semi-finals of FISSURE Playground 1, where an even tougher challenge awaits. If the team can maintain the same level of confidence and coordination, they have every chance to contend for the title.
