The Portuguese team SAW claimed a dramatic 2-1 victory over Complexity in the quarterfinals of the FISSURE Playground 1 tournament and move on to face TYLOO in the semifinals.
SAW knock out Complexity in the quarterfinals
The match began on Anubis — Complexity’s map pick. However, the North American team failed to capitalize on their choice and lost 8:13. SAW confidently controlled the pace of the game, applying aggressive pressure that left little room for their opponents to breathe.
Complexity managed to bounce back on Ancient — SAW’s pick. After a balanced first half (6:6), the American side stepped up their T side, winning the second half 7:3 to take the map 13:9 and tie the series.
The decider, Nuke, turned into a real thriller. Complexity finished the first half with an 8:4 lead, but SAW slowly clawed their way back into the game. At 11:12, Ag1l pulled off a crucial 1v2 clutch that sent the match into overtime. In the extra rounds, SAW showed more composure and edged out a 19:16 win to secure the series.
Ag1l leads SAW to the semifinals
The standout performer of the match was Ag1l. His clutch at 11:12 was the turning point of the series, and his overall performance was instrumental in the team’s success. Across the three maps, he recorded 62 kills and finished with a 1.27 rating, rightfully earning the MVP title of the match.
SAW continue to impress at FISSURE Playground 1. After upsetting FURIA and falling to GamerLegion earlier in the tournament, they have now taken down another strong opponent in Complexity. Next up, they will face TYLOO in the semifinals. Complexity, meanwhile, end their run in the top eight after victories over BetBoom and BIG, but ultimately fell short against the well-coordinated Portuguese squad.
