June 15th marked the final day of the Swiss Stage at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Three best-of-three matches determined the fate of six teams standing at a 2–2 record. With the final playoff spots on the line, paiN, MOUZ, and The MongolZ held strong under the pressure in Austin, while Virtus.pro, Legacy, and G2 Esports bowed out of the competition.

paiN Gaming vs Virtus.pro — Brazilian breakthrough at the crucial moment

Result: paiN Gaming 2–1 Virtus.pro

  • Mirage — 13:8 (paiN’s pick)
  • Inferno — 6:13 (VP’s pick)
  • Dust2 — 13:11 (decider)

This series was a perfect display of paiN’s emotional resilience and Virtus.pro’s unraveling under pressure. After opening with a convincing win on Mirage, the Brazilians were swiftly countered by VP’s experienced squad on Inferno. But everything came down to Dust2 — a map where VP held full control with a 10:2 lead but ultimately collapsed, losing 11 of the next 12 rounds.

Key Highlights:

  • Franco “dgt” Garcia was the clear MVP of the series: 52–44, 1.22 rating, 86.2 ADR.
  • Despite snow’s rough performance (26–47, 0.69), paiN compensated with strong collective execution.
  • On VP’s side, electroNic (1.18) and FL1T (1.14) delivered solid numbers, but FL4MUS underperformed heavily — 33–47, 0.84.

paiN move on to the playoffs, proving that their style and individual prowess allow them to challenge top-tier teams on the biggest stage.

The MongolZ vs G2 Esports — Asian underdogs shock the world again

Result: The MongolZ 2–0 G2

  • Ancient — 13:6 (The MongolZ’s pick)
  • Dust2 — 28:25 (G2’s pick)

Ancient was one-sided, as The MongolZ dictated the pace with global rotations, creative utility usage, and excellent trading. G2 looked lost and uncoordinated.

Dust2 turned into one of the most intense maps of the Major — a chaotic, marathon-level battle. G2 had multiple match points but couldn’t close it out. The MongolZ ultimately clutched it in the fourth overtime, playing with far more confidence in the late rounds.

Standout Performers:

  • Senzu — 66–47, 1.45 rating, nearly 97 ADR. Undisputed MVP.
  • HeavyGod (1.32) and huNter- (1.10) tried to carry G2, but as a team, they lacked cohesion.
  • Snax ended with the lowest rating of the match — 33–52, 0.73.

This marks the second Major in a row where The MongolZ eliminate a Tier-1 team in a deciding match. Their rise continues to be one of the best stories of this tournament.

Legacy vs MOUZ — A dignified farewell for the Brazilians

Result: MOUZ 2–1 Legacy

  • Ancient — 13:4 (MOUZ’s pick)
  • Inferno — 11:13 (Legacy’s pick)
  • Nuke — 13:10 (decider)

This was the closest match of the day in terms of quality. Legacy displayed one of the most structured T-side executions on Inferno at the Major, and followed that with a strong 9:3 first half on Nuke. However, they faltered in the final moments, losing every post-plant and clutch situation after the side switch.

Individual Performances:

All five Legacy players recorded ratings between 1.03 and 1.31, showcasing exceptional consistency:

  • n1ssim — 50–34, 1.31, 86.2 ADR
  • latto — 48–38, 1.20

On MOUZ, only xertioN broke the 1.00 rating mark (1.03), with the rest of the roster underperforming — torzsi especially struggled at 0.71.
Legacy played with heart, but MOUZ squeezed every advantage out of their T-side on Nuke. Despite the numbers, it was a hard-fought win that earned them a playoff spot.

The last day of the Swiss Stage reaffirmed a simple truth: even big names are not immune to pressure, missteps, or hungry challengers. G2 and Virtus.pro — two storied organizations — are headed home earlier than expected. Meanwhile, second-tier hopefuls like paiN and The MongolZ continue writing new chapters in their success stories at the highest level.
