Astralis became the second finalist of the FISSURE Playground 1 tournament, defeating BetBoom 2-0 in the semifinals. The Danes showed confident play on both maps and secured their spot in the grand final, where they will have a chance for revenge against TYLOO. Ahead lies a best-of-five title clash that promises to be the tournament’s dramatic conclusion.

Teams’ journey through the tournament

Astralis started the tournament with a dominant 2-0 victory over MIBR. In their second match, however, they surprisingly lost 1-2 to TYLOO, even though the Chinese team was playing with their coach due to Jee’s visa issues. This defeat didn’t knock Astralis out of the competition: they defeated MIBR again and then confidently overcame Lynn Vision, earning their spot in the semifinals.

BetBoom had a more difficult start — a 1-2 loss to Complexity forced them into survival mode early. But the Russian squad showed resilience, winning three consecutive matches against HEROIC, BIG, and GamerLegion (all with a 2-1 score), and confidently advanced to the semifinals.

The battle for the final

The map pool for the match was as follows:

  • Mirage – BetBoom pick
  • Nuke – Astralis pick
  • Train – decider

First up was Mirage, a surprising pick from BetBoom given their low win rate on the map (13%) compared to Astralis’ 50%. Despite the stats, the map was competitive — far from a blowout — but Astralis still came out on top, 13-10.

On their map pick — Nuke — Astralis looked calm and composed. They secured the first half 7-5 and shut down BetBoom’s offense in the second, conceding just three rounds. The final score was 13-8, and Astralis closed the series 2-0.

Player of the match

The standout player was device, Astralis’ AWPer. He delivered an impressive performance with 43 kills, 101.8 ADR, and a 1.45 rating — a key factor in securing the team’s spot in the final.

Time for revenge

In the FISSURE Playground 1 grand final, Astralis will have a perfect chance to get revenge on TYLOO for their earlier group stage loss. Back then, the Danes fell 1-2 to the Chinese side, even though TYLOO had to field their coach instead of sniper Jee, who was dealing with visa issues. Now that Jee has returned to the starting lineup, TYLOO look even stronger.

Astralis, however, are also in top form — especially device, who continues to shine. The best-of-five grand final will be the ultimate test for both squads. TYLOO’s JamYoung (1.38 rating) and Jee (1.30) lead the event’s player rankings, and their impact could be decisive.

The final promises to be intense — not just a fight for the trophy, but a chance for Astralis to reaffirm their status by taking revenge when it matters most.
